UK Powertech Ltd has been involved in the industrial battery industry for over 25 years, specialising in the design and manufacture of Battery formation connectors for use in both the Automotive and Industrial battery applications.

Focus on efficient formation system research has allowed us to understand “what are the effects of good and bad connectors”, especially with regard to:

2. Cost of repairing damaged battery terminals or the possibility of total scrap and risk of fire.

3. Increased temperature due to high resistance connector to battery terminal joints.  

4. How these parasitic problems can adversely affect the chemistry formation.  

5. How efficient connections can reduce the formation time.  

6. Equalise the quality of each battery in the string.  

7. How one bad connection in the string can affect the quality of the other batteries

We have proved that by focusing on these areas it is possible to make major saving of around $500,000 per 5 million batteries produced.
