EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION ENDS IN 10 DAYS: CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS SHOWCASE THE FUTURE OF THE GLOBAL BATTERY INDUSTRY

With only 10 days remaining before the Early Bird registration deadline, the international conference is already positioning itself as one of the most important gatherings for the global battery industry in 2026.

The technical programme will bring together industry leaders, manufacturers, researchers and technology experts to discuss the trends shaping the future of automotive systems, energy storage and battery innovation through 2030.

Among the key highlights are presentations focused on next-generation vehicle architectures, battery chemistry co-existence and breakthrough materials designed to improve battery performance and reliability.

Low Voltage, High Stakes

While high-voltage systems often dominate headlines in electric mobility, low-voltage architecture remains critical for vehicle reliability and operational safety.

Christian Rosenkranz, from Clarios, will explain why LV battery system design has become essential for today’s vehicles and future automotive architectures, directly impacting safety and reliability in next-generation mobility.

Battery Market Dynamics and Technology Co-Existence

Another major topic will focus on the evolution of the global battery market and the strategic coexistence of different battery chemistries.

Martin Seban, from KPMG, will discuss how the market’s growth toward 2030 should not be viewed as a competition between technologies, but rather as a complementary expansion where multiple battery technologies coexist and create new opportunities for the lead battery sector.

GEM: A New Electrode System

Innovation will also take center stage with the presentation of GEM (Glass Electrode Material), a new electrode system developed by Hollingsworth & Vose in partnership with ArcActive.

Following the company’s recognition with the 2026 BCI Innovation Award, Nicolas Clement and Shane Christie will introduce the new electrode structure engineered to significantly enhance lead battery performance.

Advanced Neutron-Based Characterization

The conference will also feature cutting-edge research focused on the internal chemistry of lead batteries.

Carter Abney, from Borregaard, will present advanced neutron-based characterization studies of lignosulfonates used in negative electrodes, offering new insights into future improvements in battery efficiency and performance.

The event reinforces the importance of continuous innovation in a rapidly evolving global battery market.

Early Bird registration remains available until May 22.
